DANGEROUS JUNCTION
HAZARDOUS RIGHT-TURN from CHELMSFORD ROAD into WOODFORD HIGH ROAD
John Beanse was driving along the Woodford High Road yesterday and witnessed the results of the latest accident of several recently at this dangerous junction - and so was able to take the picture below.
He comments:
1. Apparently residents in Oak Hill area (Waltham Forest) want the island to help them cross the High Road - though now some may be having doubts about safety issues.
2. Residents in Chelmsford Rd. area (Redbridge) do not want a NO RIGHT TURN at the end of their road (which would in any case have implications for other local streets).
3. My suggestion of warning sign-boards on lamp-posts at the end of Chelmsford Road has so far been resisted by Redbridge Council officers.

4. THE JUNCTION IS DANGEROUS! Something does need to be done. Motorists unfamiliar with the area are at particular risk. They pull out of Chelmsford Rd. looking left to seize on a gap in the traffic and then veer into the island as they turn right.
