LIBERAL DEMOCRATS STORM HOME IN SCOTLAND !
The Liberal Democrats have won the former safe Labour seat of Dunfermline & West Fife in an astonishing by-election win. The results for the 4 main parties:

This was all the more remarkable for being a seat "in Gordon Brown's backyard". He had had quite a high profile in the Labour campaign and is the MP for the adjoining seat. The Conservatives - despite the media euphoria about their new leader - actually went backwards.
