New role for former post office

Permission has been granted by Council officers for the shop at 66, SEWARDSTONE ROAD (former post office) to become a Police Safer Neighbourhoods Unit. The FOCUS Team fought long and hard to save this local post office and organised a petition. Sadly people were ignored. Now at least the shop is to have an important role once again. Chingford Green Lib Dem by-election candidate Graham Woolnough (standing directly in front of the closed post office in the photo) comments: “It’s good news that our Police Safer Neighbourhoods Teams are now up to strength throughout the borough. They perform a vital role in combating anti-social behaviour and I welcome the fact that they will have a base in the heart of the community on a shopping parade in Chingford Green ward.”
